Here I Go Again!

It isn't lost on me that, barely a month ago, I returned from Venice and London and now I am about to get on a plane to head back to Europe.  It also isn't lost on me that much of this upcoming trip will be to places I have already visited.  However, what makes it worthwhile is that they are some of my favourite places and I will be seeing some of my favourite people!  Further, every trip is different even when it is to familiar places.

For the next five weeks starting Sunday, I will be spending time in Alsace, Burgundy and southern England.  It is going to be a bit of a challenge to find something new or different to write about in Alsace as I have written blogs about it before.  Hopefully, there will be new stories to tell.  While I am there, I will be taking a 4 days side trip to Burgundy.  It has been something like 20 years since I was last there so I am looking forward to seeing that special part of France again, albeit briefly.  Later in the trip, I will be doing a road trip through Devon, Cornwall and the Cotswolds and being in England in the spring is always special.  Again, while there will be places I have been to, I will also get to explore new ones.

The costumes are packed away from the Venice trip and the cropped pants, t-shirts and sandals are ready for, hopefully, some sunny and warm weather - but knowing full well that the English coastline can be windy and cool, I will have to be prepared for that too.

So, please come along for the ride.  I start by flying to Frankfurt, taking a train via Offenberg to a little village near the Black Forest called Orschweier where Sue will meet me.  Then, assuming alll that goes well (believe me there have been times when I was on the wrong train and saw Orschweier go swooshing by) it will then just be the short 10 km or so drive to the Rhine for the ferry crossing to Sue's village of Rhinau in France which is about 25 km south of Strasbourg.  So, this is how it starts (apologies for the lack of detail as I am still trying to figure out a good way to get a Google map converted to something I can put in a blog):

Another Stop in the Cotswolds and Shakespeare Country

This trip is fast winding down with our last stop before parting being Stratford-Upon-Avon.  We left Bourton on the Water this morning and i...
